BLKFox | How bad IS it? I have my Venus in Scorpio opposite her Saturn in Taurus: Her Venus in Pisces is opposite my Saturn in Virgo.... Our communication often feels like an Impasse Has anyone had a similar experience? |
Glaucus | negatives: there could be delays, blockages, restrictions, limitations in love,relationship....there can be an awkward, shyness, hesitation in expressing affection with each other. There could be control issues in the relelationshippositives: but there can maturity, commitment, perseverance, patience in love/relationship. It can be a relationship that gets better with age, experience as well as good with dealing with responsibilities. according to page 190 of THE ASTROLOGY OF THE HUMAN RELATIONSHIPS
The comparative combination indicates cold, emotionally distant relationships. The natives are not voluntarily attracted to each other, although circumstances may force them into an association. In some cases, the association is based on ulterior motives, such as gaining money and status, rather than on genuine friendship and affection. The Venus individual is likely to regard the Saturn individual as cold, harsh, unfeeling, insensitive, and disciplinarian. The Saturn individual may regard the Venus individual as lazy, superficial, and irresponsible. This combination is not good for parent-child relationships because of the emotional distance and lack of understanding which it engenders. In social relationships, this combination tends to make for stiff, formal interactions. It is more suited to businesss and professional partnerships, providing both natives are mature enough to act in an honest, responsible way. |
blue moon | Well I have Venus square my husband's Saturn, but it doesn't happen the other way around. If you are with someone for many years you get used to working with the parts of your personalities that don't co-exist in natural harmony. I'm guessing this must be one of them ~ I'd have to think how this manifests itself. Actually he has Sun conjunct Saturn ~ the aspect of the self-made man. A workaholic and an idler (Venus, that would be me) ~ that sounds about right. We have learned to tolerate each other in this regard. But it's just one piece of the jigsaw. |
Glaucus | What's the orb for the aspects. I forgot to ask that. That's also a factor. of course the rest of the synastry has to be taken into account as well as both natal charts. of course, free will is the ultimate factor. |
blue moon | After checking, I can say that my father also has Sun conjunct Saturn, but his is conjunct my Venus. Both are immigrants who have risen from humble positions to authority. The old fella is retired now, but he relishes any chance to get out his briefcase and take charge. Do I have a thing about older men in authority, nah. |
BLKFox | See for yourself:
|
ErickaF | the orbs are huge. does that even count??? |
BLKFox | Where are the orbs??? |
starrym | orbs are "degrees" between two planets making the aspect for oppositions, orbs less than 8 degrees are usually used.. so .. Aag's venus in 18 Scorp can only be opposed by Taurus from 10 deg to 26 deg to really have a strong affect really this is not a strong aspect between you two. you may feel it mildly, but since it is mutual, you probably arent victimizing one person in the relationship with it |
Glaucus | Those orbs are too wide for what I would use for synastry orbs. I don't use no more than 5 degree orbs for synastry. Those orbs are lot wider. You're fine. |
BLKFox | WHEW!!! Thanks, Starrym, Glaucus, Ericka & blue Moon.. We still have been playing this cat-n-mouse game with each other since September...I'm wondering if the position of Mars causes the power struggles...no one wants to actually give in and have THE conversation...the one that gets the 'intimate relationship' ball rolling....& what about all those Taurus planets in my 8th house? It is INTENSE! |
cristiname | it means EXACTLY that there is the same aspects from you to him as it is from him to you. double "hit". you both have it/feel/act the same way. you should worry more about the aspect in question. THAT is the main thing |
BLKFox | cristiname, --Two women...no men involved here... |
blue moon | That Mars conjunct Uranus aspect is very tight. Sounds fun. |
BLKFox | How does that Mars/Uranus thing work, Blue? |
Glaucus | mainly excitement,fireworksusually indicates an unpredictable,unusual connection |
blue moon | Sexual experimentation may come into it {forgive the inadvertant pun} Mars conjunct Uranus This comparative combination indicates dynamic, interesting, but potentially explosive relationships. A good deal of sexual attraction is apparent here. You are apt to encourage each other's more impulsive urges and rash behavior. The Mars individual is fascinated by the eccentric and unpredictable Uranus. Any attempt to boss each other around simply won't work with this combination, as you both are strongly independent and you will not yield to each other. http://www.astrology-numerology.com/synastryaspects.html#Mars%20conjunct

cristiname | doesn't matter. the other "person". a "wham" is a "hit", a contact between 2 planets. when it's double, it goes both ways. |
BLKFox | cristiname, Thanks for the clarification Glaucus...I'm not at all surprised..it is definitely exciting & we're just beginning Blue...I'm the one with Venus in Scorpio, so I'm count me IN for experimentation!!!! Venus in Pisces should be ready for that also, right??? |
Glaucus | I have Venus in Scorpio, and I can't say that I am experimental about sex,relationships.....even with my Venus square Mars. |
praecipua | and does it have to be the same aspect to be called a double whammy? i mean 2 oppositions for example, or 2 trine? or can it be 1 trine and 1 opposition? |
